Privacy Policy

IGY (“we,” “us,” “the app”) is a private network for coordinating help among people you already know. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it’s handled.

Information we collect

Account info: your name and phone number, used to create your account and verify your identity via SMS code.
Profile photo: optional, if you choose to set one.
Connections: the phone numbers of people you invite or connect with on IGY. We use these only to send invitations and match you with people already on the app — we do not access your device’s full contact list.
Requests and tasks: the content you post (what you need, when, details) and your responses to others’ requests, visible only within your private network.
Calendar access: if you grant permission, IGY adds confirmed tasks and events to your device calendar. We only write events you’ve confirmed — we do not read or access your existing calendar entries.
Push notification token: used to deliver notifications about requests, responses, and connections. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.

Information we do not collect

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
We do not access your device’s contacts, camera, or microphone.

How we use your information

We use the information above solely to operate IGY: creating your account, connecting you with people you invite, displaying and coordinating requests within your private network, and sending you relevant notifications.

How we store your information

Your data is stored using Firebase (a Google Cloud service), with access limited to what’s needed to run the app. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Your choices

You can revoke calendar or notification permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.
You can delete your account by contacting us at rachel@igyapp.com.
Deleting your account removes your profile and account data; content already shared with your connections (e.g., a completed request) may remain visible to them.

Children

IGY is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
